March Madness Elite 8, Day 2: Quick Hits

Well the gut check worked. 3-1 Yesterday brings us to a nice 45-30 on the tournament. And full transparency, I have a tee time to get to and an Easter egg hunt to set up, so let's get these picks in and enjoy the holiday.

Tennessee (2) vs Purdue (1)

Purdue -3.5 O/U 147.5

Call me the chalkman for taking both favorites yesterday, but we hit both of them. Sometimes it works out. Speaking of chalk, Purdue and UCONN were the most popular championship game prediction heading into this tournament, and an Edey vs UCONN showdown would do numbers for ratings. I don't see Dlaton Knecht Knechting enough from beyond the arc to keep the Vols in this, and I think Purdue wins comfortably.

NC State (11) vs Duke (2)

Duke -7.5 O/U 143.5

Unlike the Duke alumni at your country club, I will be on time for my tee time, play fast, dress appropriately, and keep, honest scorecard, and not make weird comments to the young lady in the beverage cart. However, much like the Duke basketball team, I too have a spread set at 7.5... it's just an over/under for my worst hole. One of the toughest things in sports is to beat a team twice in a row, and I don't see NC State being able to do that here. I may have called for this run to end a few times already and been DJ Burned on that, but I truly believe we will have one more week of all the Blue Devils in our lives being as insufferable as ever.
