They say the Coronavirus dies at 133 degrees Fahrenheit, and after the past two posts going 6-0, I'm basically immune. Last week I was riding a heater like the one Jeff Tambor warned about in The Hangover, and now I've progressed to full on streaking. Here's three more picks for the mid-week slate. Cue the gif:
Wednesday, July 15
Wolverhampton Wanderers at Burnley
I recently sold Wolves to my buddy Zaine and the "Lots Toys" podcast as the team to get behind for Project Restart, so it's only right to pick one of their games sooner than later. Wolves now only sit one point clear in their quest for European football after Man City had their Champion's League ban lifted in a decision that made Roger Stone's pardoning seem honorable. The pressure is on against a Burnley side who have not scored more than once in a match since the restart, but, outside of a 5-0 loss to Man City, have also not conceded more than once in a match. Expect a tight game here, but Wolves have everything to play for in their last three games of the season.
The pick: Wolves ML @ -119
Tottenham at Newcastle
After collecting seven points in their first four matches, Newcastle have taken just one point over their last three matches, two of which were against clubs in the relegation battle. However, they can put the ball in the back of the net, having scored seven times in their last four matches. Tottenham missed many chances against Arsenal in a 2-1 victory that should've been at least 3-2. It's always risky taking the over with Mourinho involved, but I believe Newcastle may chip in with a goal of their own to help push this one.
The pick: OVER 2.5 @ -115
Thursday, July 16
Manchester United at Crystal Palace
Palace have been dreadful since the restart as their only win came in their first match against relegation-threatened Bournemouth. They ride a five match losing streak into this match up against a United side who are both tied on points for the final Champion League spot and angry after giving up a last-minute equalizer to lowly Southampton last weekend. Bottom line here is United can score in bunches, and Palace have been shut-out in four of six matches since play resumed.
The pick: Man. United -1.5 @ -105
BONUS Parlay: Man United-Palace O 2.5/Brighton-Southampton U 2.5 @ +224
*I should learn my lesson and stay away from parlays, but they are honestly too much fun.
